Paragraphs are the building blocks of writing, so it's critical that students master this form before moving on to longer styles of composition.
In this video-based class, your student will learn the basics of a descriptive paragraph and compose one on their own. Plus, you get a full instructor evaluation of their writing!
Students will learn the basics, via video, of paragraph construction, such as the required sentence types, as well as techniques for brainstorming descriptive details and how to write strong topic and concluding sentences.
Once students complete the homework, they can submit their paragraph to the instructor for an evaluation that analyzes the grammar, structure, and overall writing style.
The evaluation will give students and parents a clear understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the learner's writing based on the paragraph.
The video begins with a fun warmup that engages students, followed by clear instruction on how to organize and compose a paragraph. Throughout the video, I use interactive activities, such as asking students to choose the best sentence for a topic sentence.
At the start of class, students will receive a worksheet they can use to follow along through the video.
